He is currently serving as the interim in this position. Mr. Woods brings with him over 32 years of experience in education with nearly 25 years of school administration. He has worked in Oregon, Texas, California and Georgia. Most recently, Mr. Woods was the assistant superintendent for Cornerstone Christian School in San Antonio, Texas. He has a masters’ degree from Abilene Christian University and his administrative credentials from Portland State in Oregon. Troy Michaels, District Board Chair and Diane Swingley, Charter School Board President-Chair, issued a joint statement stating, “We are pleased Mr. Woods has chosen to continue serving our students. He brings expertise in many areas which will further enhance our goal of rigorous academics that will fulfill the potential of every student to create responsible citizens.” Steve Woods stated, “My time serving as the Interim Superintendent has been rewarding because it has given me the opportunity to meet the great people associated with Days Creek Charter School. Moving forward, I am excited and honored to partner with faculty, staff, students, parents, school board members and community supporters. As your Superintendent, I will build on established foundational principles, strive for excellence and work with others to focus on ideas and goals that will move Days Creek Charter School towards a successful future.” We are pleased to have Mr. Woods as our superintendent/principal/executive director and look forward to working together as he provides important leadership in educating our students to achieve their best.
