Introducing...
DiscoverU is a planned weekly activity for staff, professionals and members of our community to introduce Days Creek students to fun and exciting ideas, topics and real life after the classroom.
Our goal is to:
Create learning around team building, leadership, communication, trust, problem
solving, collaboration, coaching and more.
Present students with learning opportunities not traditionally found in the classroom.
Ignite student interest in areas that prompts future inquiry.
Establish a mentoring or personal connection that promotes understanding and care.
DiscoverU occurs most Tuesday afternoons from 2:15-4:00 p.m. (unless Monday is a holiday, in which DiscoverU will be on Wednesday). Students (grades 6-12) will have 6-10 classes to choose from. Sessions may be offered one or multiple times - depending on the topic and presenter.
An example session for students to choose classes:
Reading Room, Team Building/Sports, Performing Arts, Ted Talks, Culinary Arts, Career Development, Vet Tech, Outdoors/Sustainable Living, Digital Media and Military/Fire/Law Enforcement.
