About Us

Douglas County School District #15 operates the only K-12 charter school in southern Douglas County (aka "South County") and accepts students from throughout the area with daily busing from Tri-City, Myrtle Creek, Canyonville and Riddle. Despite serving an area that covers 803 square miles (within our district attendance zone) our current enrollment is around 200 students, and that small school climate allows us to focus our teaching on individualized and responsive instruction that adapts to students' needs. We boast one of the strongest agriculture and FFA programs in the county, with active metal, wood, horticulture and animal husbandry components. Former students in this program have competed nationally, representing Oregon in forestry and parliamentary procedure contests. The perfect fit of agriculture in our rural landscape is complemented by our tech-savvy staff and students, who reject the notion that remote means out-of-touch or disconnected. The single campus set up of our school allows for enriching interaction between our primary and secondary students and opportunities for becoming and finding role models. Responsible high school students can be tasked with internships, learning valuable organization and leadership skills, while younger pupils watch successful teens excel in high school. Teachers and staff are longtime and integral members of our community, many of whom are former Days Creek graduates and returned to give their shared enthusiasm for this small school that’s got a big appetite for learning. The wide-open spaces that surround Days Creek offer our children and school room to grow strong, confident and ready for tomorrow.
